The data shows that 75% of those who suffered a heart attack had an LDL cholesterol score below 130 mg/dl (labeled as acceptable), and 50% had a score below 100 mg/dl (labeled as very healthy.)
Only 25% of those who suffered a heart attack had high cholesterol.
Similar findings have been proven in repeated studies before and since.
2. Lowering your cholesterol with drugs will prevent heart attacks.
A review of research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology determined that no reliable study has ever proven that statins prevent deaths. Their research also shows that every single cholesterol hype-study has been purposely misleading.
However, the most drastic proof of the ineffectiveness of statins comes from a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2008. It showed that treatment with two statins lowered cholesterol much more than treatment with one statin alone. The issue with the two statins treatment was that it led to a higher buildup of plaque in the arteries – meaning that your cholesterol level goes down, but your arteries get more clogged.
Some examples of statin side effects are weakness, nerve damage in the hands and feet, acidosis dysfunction of the pancreas, muscle aches and pains, sexual dysfunction, anemia, cataracts, rhabdomyolysis (a serious degenerative muscle tissue condition), liver diseases, suppressed immune function, and several types of cancer.
What is the real reason your arteries are clogged?
The answer is oxidized cholesterol.
It’s completely different from LDL or HDL cholesterol. Many new studies have found this type of cholesterol to be the main building block of plaque in the arteries. The research shows that there isn’t a trace of normal LDL in the plaque that narrows your arteries.
Oxidized cholesterol is a chemical reaction. Only LDL (bad cholesterol), not HDL (good cholesterol), can be oxidized. Example of how oxidized cholesterol causes heart attack:

This means that Ian’s oxidized cholesterol level is 80, whereas Joe’s is only 10. This comparison makes it easy to see why some people have heart attacks with their LDL at 100 while others have healthy hearts even if their LDL measures 200.
It’s important to note that oxidized cholesterol buries itself into your arteries, causing inflammation and other damage. This “stickiness” causes it to build up on your arterial walls. Non-oxidized LDL doesn’t do this. Many studies have proven this to be true, but doctors and pharmaceutical companies still focus on LDL. This probably because oxidized cholesterol does cause an increase in LDL levels.
How does LDL become oxidized?
Every organic product “oxidizes” at some point if it comes into contact with oxygen. Fruits rot. Milk goes sour. Meats gather mold. Fat goes rancid. Since cholesterol and fat are closely related, just a small amount of consumed oxidized fat will spread oxidization around your arteries and create plaque buildup.
Not all fats are created equal.
Different types of oils can be highly oxidized. The more processed an oil is, the more oxidized it becomes.
